The Hoppings is back!

The world’s biggest travelling fun fair is a great historical event for all the family to enjoy.

Celebrating its exciting 132nd year, The Hoppings will be held on the Town Moor, Newcastle upon Tyne.  Back bigger than ever, we guarantee it will also be better than ever with over 300 different attractions, including Star Flyer, a brand new tower ride, making its northern debut.

Other exciting rides include Crazy Mouse, The Big Wheel, and The Log Fume. There will also be a variety of food stalls available on site from hotdogs to candy floss.

Saturday 21st from 1pm with official opening ceremony at 1.30pm

Free entry

Parking – With the number of parking restrictions in Jesmond and Gosforth, if you are travelling by car, we strongly recommend that you park on site.  The charge of £3.00 to park all day is modest, given the cost of a parking ticket.

Access for motorists is via the Grandstand Road entrance near the Blue House roundabout.

Access for pedestrians – can be via the main entrance on the Great North Road, via the car parking area on Grandstand Road, or on Claremont Road which will bring you onto the fairground at the southern end, near the fortune tellers.

Public Transport – You can travel by bus or Metro to the Hoppings.  Alight at the Great North Road if travelling by bus, or at West Jesmond Metro station, if travelling by Metro.

Rides- All rides and attractions are individually priced.

Vouchers – Go to our vouchers tab to download as many vouchers as you need.  You’ll save ££££s!

Safety – There is a fairground superintendent on duty throughout the duration of The Hoppings.   He can be found at the Control Centre next to the main entrance on the Great North Road.

Health – In case of illness, the First Aid centre can be found at the main entrance at the portacabins. In addition there will be St. John’s Ambulance Staff patrolling the site.

Alcohol – This is a temperance site and alcohol is not allowed.  Fairground ride operators reserve the right to prevent any passengers from using their ride if they feel that they are under the influence of alcohol on arrival.
